- Going from an Amiga 500 to an Amiga 1000 is not an upgrade.
- The original Amiga was the 1000. The first one, get it?
- The next generation were the A500 and A2000.

- Updated Canon software requires Kickstart 2.04 or above.
- An unmodified Amiga 1000 will load Kickstart 1.3 from floppy into
- a special 256K memory area called Writeable Control Store.
- Kickstart 2.04 is 512K in size. 2.04 will not fit in WCS.
-
- I advise that your customer upgrade to the Amiga 500 and use the printer
- with EpsonQ or EpsonX printer drivers that come with the system.
- The printer should have a switch to go into Epson compatibility mode.
- Of course, the special features of the printer will not be supported.
- If a Kickstart upgrade is wanted, Kickstart 3.1 is the one to get.
-
- The Amiga generations are:
- 1000
- 500/2000
- 3000
- CDTV
- 3000T
- 1200/4000
- CD32
- 4000T
